I seem to recall some of the info put out during the development said the dominant tide will influence current events and it might help explain why the game contains so many words (what was it, 1.2 Million words?). It'll be interesting to see how much the Tides influence the attitudes of people and quests during subsequent playthroughs (if it does influence them much/any). I was going to see if the character sheet or journal had info on which tide was dominant at the moment, but then I got distracted by an NPC's conversation. I've been seeing a lot of Silver, Blue, Gold and the last few had some Red.

Yea, the tides is more explained in the pdf manual (which I've not fully read) but I'm surprised on how many dialog choices are influencing the tides too. I'm going to have to be very careful on dialogs I was pleasantly surprised when I was talking with someone and I had gotten an insight on what he was working on and told him then chose a contradictory dialog option and he objected and complained that he 'thought I understood' and got more upset.

I'm currently in the Third-ish area of Sagus Cliffs and I've been talking to everyone I've seen. The Amanamnesis skill for memory was a huge priority to me as I read through because I play these games primarily for the story so getting more story is awesome to me. I'm doing a Clever Jack and I've not gotten into a fight yet. I tried out Numenara last night and I've been enjoying it. I may have to reinstall that sometime and see how it patches up with a modern system. Personally, I loved Planescape: Torment and finished a few times. There were a few parts of PS:T that were very difficult as a mage like the dream machine and at the end when you got split from the party. I hope they don't punish pure RP/magic characters too badly. Of course I chose Lore:Mythical and one of the first companions is maxed out in that one.
